It is such a relief that the war is over! There is peace between Britain and the US. Life is so much better, and I now i don't have to worry about my children's safety and future. The joy inside me I can not express, I am just so proud to be British. They fought a brave battle. Britain I believe took the upper hand when the war with Napoleon  ended and Britain then could have sent in more troop to British North America but instead stopped the impressment of American soldiers. Then they signed the treaty of Gaunt in December 24 1814, then every thing went back to normal.
It was a great loss, the death of Major General Isaac Brock. He was a brave man, and served his country well. Unfortunately on October the 13, 1812 at approximately 4:00 am, a bullet was shot and it pierced Brock's chest.
The Americans had attacked British land, a place not far from Queenston. Brock was woken up early in the morning by gun shots, so he took his troops ( witch was not many ) and went to the place where the battle was. As he walked up the hi9ll where the Americans were he was shot. The few British troops retreated to wait for more enforcement. By mid- afternoon Major General Roger Sheaffe led British troops back to the battle field, accompanied by Ahyouwaighs ( the leader of the Haudenosaunee ) and his men. Britain won the battle and did not lose many men, and were able to capture 958 of the american troops.

The British North American Gazette

The Bravest Girl in the World!
Laura Secord is a 38 year old woman that lives in Queenston, Upper Canada. While the war of 1812 was going on, her family was forced to allow some American solders to live in their house. One day she over heard them planning to attack the Beaver Dams, witch is a very important British land. So on June 13, of 1813 Laura set of to warn the British army about the attack. She walked 32km through forest and bog, and finally met a group of Haudenosaunee's, who are allies with the British. They brought General Fitzgibbon to Laura, and the British were warned just in time. The British fought a strong battle, and won. They were also able to captured almost all of the American soldiers except for 6. If it weren't for this brave girl the British would have never won this battle.

Dear Diary-
I am so Happy! All the Loyalist are now starting to believe that we have a chance to win the war. Yesterday on August 6, my army of 700 men and 600 First Nations approached Detroit. Tecumseh led them to the fort and almost at once General Hall surrendered at once. I am not sure exactly why because he had 2000 troops when we only had 1300. I don't really care though, this victory has helped us so much. Not only have the loyalists started to cheer up but also I have a new reputation for being a strong military leader. Hopefully this winning streak does not end.
     Until then-
           Sir Isaac Brock
Dear Diary-
I don't Know what to tell the people! They ask me when British troops will be coming? And How will British North America defend their land? The question people ask the most, and I hate the most is Will the Americans win? These questions do not have an answer to, and because I don't people get more nervous. The loyalists are starting to break down, and are considering moving to the US. As a matter of fact I am most scared that not just the people will leave British North America, but the few soldiers that are left too.
Britain wont send any more troops or supplies over to British North America because they are at battle with Napoleon at the moment. They rather lose British North America than Britain its self. That is understandable, but it would be a shame for all these settlers to lose their homes and possessions to the Americans.
Another main problem is that when the American Revolution started a lot of Americans came and joined the British Loyalists, but now I wonder weather they just came hear for land. And when the Americans invade, if they will just let them through, and not defend our land.
I have no idea what will become of this?
Until then-
Isaac Brock

Dear Diary-
What has happened to Britain? Tow wars at once! First Napoleon declares war, then the United States of America. I was about to leave Upper Canada to help Britain with the war against Napoleon but then the US declares war on Upper Canada. I will not leave Canada to fight this battle by them selves so I have decided to stay. Some of the people living hear are getting a bit anxious, not knowing what will happen but I told them that we can not dwell on is yet to come. We must work to gather to fight this battle. France has given the US money to help them win the American revolution, and I suggested that if Britain were to lose to the US, the Americans would probably give Canada to France to thank them for their help. Also I reminded the people about all the good things Britain has done and the benefits they got, but if France takes over because we loss the war to the US life would be much worse. Most people seem to be more co-operative, I hope all their hard work pays off.

Write soon,
Isaac Brock

This is so unfair! Who do the British think they are? They are going to bankrupt my trade business. The British government is capturing my sailors, by taking over their ships, just so the ships don’t go to France. The British want to hurt the French economy, by depriving them from trade. But they are hurting the American economy much more. The U.S is losing a lot of money, because Brittan takes all of the goods on the ship they take over, keeps them for them selves, and The U.S gets nothing in return. Not only are the British capturing my sailors but they are also forcing them to work for the British Navy. Brittan wants to protect the English Channel, so Napoleon won’t invade England. England doesn’t have a very strong navy because most of their sailors quit their jobs and came to work for the U.S Navy. The sailors that work for the U.S Navy get paid more than sailors that work for the British  Navy. So for the British to build up their navy they capture my sailors. To hurt the French economy they take the goods on my ships. And by doing all this they make my business go bankrupt. that is not fare at all, something will be done about this!

Yes! They finally responded!
It is I again Peter Boner, the British government finally responded. In 1784 a royal carter created the colony of New Brunswick. Though the farmers in my town are still not very happy, you see, colonies still have to go by French civil laws. One of witch says that farmers could use land to farm but not own it. So there is a petition going around, to let farmers own land. Then after the farmers get enough signatures for their petition they will send it to the king of England. Hopefully the King will do something about this. For now there is not much more we can do.

UGH! The government is located in Halifax; witch is too far away from my town to be able to help us.
I am Peter Boner, a very wealthy doctor, and I live all the way west of the Bay of Fundy. Because the government is too far away, we are always forgotten about. This is a problem because we my town’s population outnumbers Halifax’s. I have sent messengers to the government, complaining about how we need our own government. They haven’t responded yet, but they will eventually have to make a new colony, because the Halifax government will not able to handle all the new settlers.

I John Thompson work for the timber industry, but us workers don’t all do the same job. There are the workers that cut down the trees, and then the there are the workers that package the lumber and send it to Britain. But I don’t do either of those jobs. I am the one of the workers that climbs down in to narrow points of a river where some lumber has blocked the water flow. Other workers propel me down on a rope, and I have to find the log that is holding all the other logs up, and chop it in half so the water can flow. When I cut the log free I have to get out fast be for the water starts rushing again or I get washed a way with the water. That almost happened one time. I had just cut the log and I was climbing up the walls of the river when I slipped and the rope that was around my waist came undone. The water then burst though the logs, I grabbed onto a root that was sticking out of the wall. I was hanging on for dear life when one of the logs came right under me and I was able to push off it with my feet and grab onto a rocky ledge and pull my self up. That hasn’t happened since so that is good.

The lumber industry is doing very well, because Britain is at war they constantly need to make new ships. Also with all the new settlers needing to build home and furniture and utensils, lumber is in constant demand.

I am a fur trader for HBC (Hudson Bay Company) it is a pretty exiting job. It is perfect for me, because I am a good bargainer. I never settle for a first offer, even if it might be fair. The only problem is that I haven’t had much business lately because the North West Company is stealing all our costumers. Every body buys from them now because they have better furs. The HBC and the NWC trade there fur differently. The HBC has posts set up around Hudson Bay, and wait for the First Nations to come to us. The NWC travels a cross the continent looking for furs to trade. My wife sais that I should switch companies and work for the NWC because they are doing so much better, but if I did I would be so far away from my family. The NWC travel to new places to find fur, I could be all the way across the country, and I could not live like that. I hope the HBC will start doing better and drive the NWC out of business, because if they don’t, soon I wont have a job
